My guinea pigs are getting pretty fat, and I'm wondering if they need to do any exercise

we strongly support "floor time" ( and "grass time " in the summer ) .... for exercise and for enrichment .

if you need any ideas ... search for "floor time" on this forum and several threads will come up

I do give them floor time and grass time, but they just sit in a corner

Please persevere. They will start to come out when they are more used to it .

Do you weigh your guineas ? Have they gained a lot recently? What foods do you feed them ?

Hi! Please read this guide here; it tells you how to check whether your guinea pigs are a good weight for their individual size at any stage in life and what you can do if they are overweight, including diet and expercise: The Importance Of Weighing - Ideal Weight / Overweight / Underweight

The most important aspect is a good balanced hay based diet (80% of the daily food intake) with a small amount of a balanced veg mix and only very limited pellets (should not make more than 5% of the daily intake). No sugary/fatty/dairy based shop treats.
Guinea pig have a very fast metabolism, so with a long term good diet you do not just regulate their weight, you also greatly enhance their longevity.
