You can either make the oats up into a porridge by adding hot water, or just sprinkle the oats onto the dry food. They are great at helping to put on weight.

I always add a scoop of pro-biotic to the syringe food. You can either get it from your vet or Pets at Home also sell it.

Sounds like you and Wispa are doing great.

x

Thank you both. We are home all nite.
I Will make a trip to pets at home for the probotic

yeah!

:(|) Just found a bag of excel museli style piggie food and along with the readi grass put in a handful and wispa came over to the bowl.. and started to eat.. she's picking out peas, grass, oats.. :(|) I am so happy.. still early days but the meds mush be helping! :)

Morning all.. this morning 10ml with the probotics in and left her sat at the food dish with some readi grass & food in it. She has put on some more weight and is 786g today! Will cut down the feeds I do to 3 a day now and will see if I can tempt her to the hay next... will put in a food cube tonight.

I have noticed that her front teeth have chistled again now tho.. :... But if she is eating then at least they are warying down for now and I can get her weight up a bit and we can look at that later if needs be!

Well done Wispa! Keep it up x

weigh in

Morning, weighed in at 800g today thats a 8g increase on yesterday. Unfortunatly as I am working and still giving some syringe feeds I have not managed to confirm if shes eating hay but i know she eats ready grass & some foods (just not pellets).. my questions is...

This morning only managed 8mls before she obivously didn't want any more (she tooks some c/care willingly and then decided no more) when should i start to cut down the feeds or should i still do them but just know they will be smaller and smaller feeds? Caviesgalore or furryfriends any hints here? :)

I am looking to try and get her to 900g which I know she has weighed before.

Morning. If she were my piggy I would continue with the syringe feeding for the time being, albeit she will only take smaller amounts at any one sitting. The fact Wispa's weight is increasing would make me think she is managing to eat some food by herself. I assume you will be around over the weekend, so hopefully you will be able to get a better idea of what Wispa is eating for herself. I would want to keep her weight up as much as possible just in case she has a set back or needs further dental treatment - you've seen just how scarily quickly the weight can drop off.

You're doing a grand job.:)
