Extra fussy piggie

Hi everyone,

My piggie Jack is really really fussy when it comes to guinea pig food. I was giving him Wagg guinea pig crunch but it seems to have changed in the last couple of months and so I started buying Wilkos guinea pig food, but now that seems to have changed. He picks at his food and only picks out certain bits. I've tried him on pellets but he doesn't seem to like them at all! Help! Any suggestions? rolleyes

I use Supa Excel, alot of people on here use these - you should try and avoid food that encourages selective feeding, with these, the pellets look the same so your piggy cannot be picky and gets all the nutrients needed.

Remember not to change straight away and gradually ease them in otherwise it will upset their tummy. It just takes a little time, mine were like that when i changed their food to excel but now they love it.

I would try him on the pellets again - just gradually introduce it to him with his muesli and he should soon start eatting it. Then eventually that is all he should be getting - it might take him a wee while to get used to something different. The pellets are definitely better.
