My 9 year old boar seems to have developed an extra tooth at the front? This has happened in the last month, anyone else had this ? Is it normal or should it be looked at? He’s recently got over crusty lips hence the skin tag ... it took months for it to go ! He’s eating fine although one eye has milky tears. I’m due to go to the cat and rabbit clinic with my other boat in 6 weeks time .

@furryfriends (TEAS) Any ideas?

If you are going to the C&R clinic in Northampton, Simon or Kim will be the best to assess this as they are very good dental wise.

Peg teeth can develop. The best guinea pig dental vet in this country is Simon Maddock at the Cat&Rabbit Care Clinic in Northampton. If you can get there, please do! Piggy savvy vets in this country are far and few in between.

Yes I go to see Simon and Kim every 6 weeks with my other pig . I’ve just been at the weekend and not due to go till mid Dec I’m wondering if it could wait till then as he doesn’t seem bothered by it.

As long as the extra tooth is not interfering, you should be OK.
