Up far too early to be decent for a 21 year old that likes to sleep till mid afternoon but oh well - going to be worth it! My dad has taken this week off so we can FINALLY get around to building my shed. Well the garden was prepared yesterday, the base was done, and today we're putting it up! It shouldn't take all that long as it's quite simple to do (she says!) but at least the weather is nice this morning.

That's not exactly why I'm excited though! Why then? Well! Tomorrow I am off to meet what I desperately hope will be the last (but definitely not least!) addition to my herd - an absolutely stunning neutered boar. Joanne at Milhaven sent me a pic of him the other day and oh my, he's stunning. I won't post it yet as I don't want to jinx anything but if all goes well this is not a boar that's going to get lost in a herd of ladies - he's stunning. All of my piggies are stunning but this little guy is so striking and will stick out like a sore thumb in a very good way! Can't wait and I hope my girls will like him as much as I do!

Eeek! *runs off to build a shed*

good luck hope there are not too many rows over putting up the shed lol we had many my hubbie told me to leave in the end :(|)

hope your new addition goes well as cant wait to see piccies of the little stunner.

Oooh exciting. Hope the shed building goes okay .... my summerhouse came in about 200 pieces when I got it earlier this year and was a nightmare to put up.....

Very excited about your potential new piggy :))
x

Exciting times....!
I hope your new little man settles in well and I can't wait to see pictures....!
x

Heehee thank you! Dad's doing what dads do and having a brew first... I just want to get started!

Also, I have just realised how many times I used the word stunning in that paragraph... did I mention that he's stunning? :(|)

Aww, how very exciting! Good luck putting the shed up and i cannot wait to see your new piggy!!! xx>>>

Aww, how exciting for you.

Basil and I are off to see Joanne next Wednesday in the hope we can find him a friend since he is lonely after Dilys' passing.

Can't wait to see pigtures!

:(|) That's great news and how exciting for you, a new shed AND a new piggy...faints with hyperventilation ;)
Pic overload coming up I think :(|) ;) and can't wait - really happy for you :)p

OOOO very exciting :) My dad is the same about things "I'll just have a cup of tea" then its a sandwich..then the tv is on and there I am ready to go but don't have a clue what i'm doing :)) Happy Shedding

Touch wood that all goes to plan! I can't wait to see the George Clooney of husboars! drool

Ooh sounds very exciting. Cant wait to see pics of the new shed, and your gorgeous new boar.

Brew time for dad! Actually going better than we expected. It's a bit squiffy so far but we think that's how it's been made... Oh well! I don't mind as long as we can hide the bodged bits at the back. It's being moved next spring onto a proper flag base where it'll be for the rest of its life, so for now it just has to be leakproof and warm! We've done all the walls. Next up: roof! It's so big! I hadn't realised till now just how big it is. I was originally wanting a 10x8 as I went in one in a garden center. But looking at it on my patio and standing in it it is perfect for my herd - they'll have tons of space! YAY!

Katie, I hope you find Basil the perfect ladyfriend! I know Joanne will pick the best of the best for him and you to meet! :(|)

:)) i'm loving your dads brew brakes! Glad it's going ok! Bigger is better!xx>>>xx>>>

And another... rolleyes

That said, he's got an excuse this time - he has to go to the dentist so we've covered it with a tarpaulin to keep it dry just in case. When he gets back we'll get the roof, windows and door on at the very least; might even be able to get the trimmings on it!

Yay! I also agree, bigger is better. This thing dwarfs my hutches, and the herd will be free range! Fingers crossed it'll be finished for tomorrow evening ready for me to put everyone in it on Friday!

:)) bless him! You've got him working hard! The piggies are going to be in heaven on Friday, can't wait for pics, as an indoor piggy owner i love seeing piggy sheds, especially when the pigs are free range in them! Lauras (audioheart) always looks like so much fun for the piggies to go exploring in!

I agree, that's one awesome shed! Mine will look a bit bare for a while as I get chubes and stuff for them in there. I have some, but what filled a hutch won't take up much space in a shed! Might go to B&M stores near me and have a look for suitable piggy toys! I have foot stools, cardboard boxes, one pigloo (definitely need more!) one of those stick bridge things (might get two more), chubes.... NEED MORE. Just an excuse to spend money... :(|)

It's not normal for a person to get so excited about something like a shed... but I am!

Ahh that sounds like plenty! You have loads of fun stuff for them! What about stuffing plant pots with hay (Lauras idea!) they are going to have so much fun! Don't talk to me about money - i've spent a small fortune on my pigs and despite telling myself time and time again that they have enough i keep buying more! mallethead i do need to stop though as there are so many things i need to buy myself and i keep going without :x

Ooooooo have funnnn putting up your new shed and looking forward to pigtures drool

Oki, definitely not great, but not bad either. We had a slight hiccup in that the sky decided to wee on us and my shed floor (which is not waterproof). We managed to stop a lot of the water coming in but enough got in to soak the floor so before we can lay a floor and get my pigs in it needs to dry. Hopefully tomorrow is looking quite good weather wise so we're going to felt the roof, get the last two windows in and attatch the door. We're also going to get our insulation and floor materials ready and hope that the floor dries overnight and during the day tomorrow. Fingers crossed as I want to get my piggies in as soon as possible! :D

:(|) I'm getting all excited about OH building a new indoor pen so a shed would be probably too much for me to handle ;)
Hope it's all going well, the weather is kinder for you and for moving in day - love seeing anything like this on here :))

*big sigh* Finally the shed is done. Well, the structure is - we still need to find something suitable for the floor and get the pigs bits and bobs in, but that's the easy part!

And... I don't know if I mentioned the fact that my then-to-be-piggy is stunning... Well, he actually is. He is called Einstein, he is a PEW Peruvian(X? - not totally sure on that one), and he is gorgeous. I'm going to post lots of pics of him tomorrow as he's a little skittish at the moment so I'm going to spend some time with him tomorrow and have a little photoshoot. However, here is the one that got me drooling!

He is so unbelievably handsome.

So glad you are happy with him! :)) I can't wait to see how he handles being with all the ladies. ;)

He really is eye catching to say the least...drooldrool

Oooooh hello gorgeous boy! He is beautiful! Well done on the shed! Now for the fun part! xx>>>

Well, he's certainly not going to get lost, is he?! x)

I think I'm going to have to reassure him that no, he isn't dead and in piggy heaven and yes, I have given him 15 ladies to call his own... Definitely going to be a shock to his system - all that womanly lovelyness...nice round bums...scrummy piggy lips... :x

I think he's going to have the guinea pig equivalent of a 'Glynis moment'!
