Junior Guinea Pig
A couple of weeks ago I was having an evening cuddle with my 5 year old piggy Daisy when I noticed her eye had gone a milky white colour.
At first I suspected she may be developing cataracts due to her age but I rang the vets first thing the next morning and took her to the vets that afternoon.
He did a fluorescent test (I can't remember the exact name sorry!) and diagnosed Daisy with a nasty abscess behind her eye and prescribed her chloramphenicol eye drops 3 times a day.
After just a week I noticed a massive difference in her eye and after a vet check up and another test she got the all clear and the abscess has gone.
I'm so pleased! I just thought I'd share these pictures of what her eye looked like in case any other members notice a similar issue with their piggies.
There was no discharge with her eye or other symptoms other than it had gone a milky, cloudy white colour.
So relieved she's all better now
