Hi my poor baby Dash has a eye problem

Wednesday I came home to find his eye was slightly shut and the membrane looked swollen. After some investigating I noticed some specs around his eye. Ive tried my best flush them out. I took this photo after cleaning his eye

Hes still eating, drinking and pooping. also rumble struts squeaks and plays hide and seek with his younger buddy.

Hello and welcome to the forum.

Dash will probably need antibiotic eye ointment - it's probably caused by a scratch on the eye from either grooming and catching his eye with a toe nail, a hay poke or from his cagemate. So a trip to the vet is needed. If left it can ulcerate and cause him a lot of pain.

Do let us know how he gets on.

Suzy

It looks like an infection to me.... some antibiotic ointment should clear it right up.

Yeah I agree,

It looks infected but a good anti-biotic ointment will clear it up so don't panic. It's definitely not fat-eye in my opinion. Fat eye is usually sort of clear/white.
