Hello

Yesterday, I noticed that Rodney has some kind of an eye infection - It's not ***** or a yellow colour, it's sort of a clear liquid in his eyes, that dries up around the eye.

I took this photo this morning before I cleaned it up to show you. To be honest, this photo does actually make it look worse than it is and it only looks like this in the mornings.

Could it has been some sawdust or hay? What do you guys think.

I am going to keep cleaning it, and see how it is over today and tomorrow, then he might have to go to the vets.

could be the start of conjunctivitis, my duke gets it a lot, you probably need to get an appointment with the vets, i got some antibiotic cream for duke it comes in a good size tube so lasts for ages should it happen again.

Bathe his eyes with a little clean warm water and cotton wool, and book a trip to the vets before it gets worse :)

Agree with the above. It's best to get it checked out at the vets. He may have poked himself in the eye with a bit of hay which is quite common.

Boil some water in your kettle and allow it to cool. This makes it sterile. Bathe the eye using this water and cotton wool. Wipe the eye over once, then throw away your cotton wool and use a new piece to wipe again. Do this 2-3 times each day. If there's no improvement, take him to the vets.

You could put a bit of salt in the cooled boiled water - just a tiny bit or use saline to bathe his eyes.:)

OK, thanks everyone, I have been keeping it clean since yesterday and it only seems to build up overnight. I personally think it's OK at the moment as it's clear....I have also checked to see if there is any injury from hay, doesn't seem to, but you never know.
It is does get worse though I will take him to the vets, I just wanted to know what you guys thought.

Thanks.
