New Born Pup
Hi all,
Our 1yr boar Monkey, is having a problem with one of his eyes - closing it and squinting. I had a look at it, and cleaned with water, but couldn't see any gunk, it isn't cloudy, and couldn't see any hay etc. The corner of the eye is slightly (I mean very slightly) red.
My OH took the pig to the vet (the normal person we see was off so saw a different vet). They stuck the iodine in the eye, and couldn't see any problem either. The only thing they could think is that the back teeth have overgrown somehow causing the problem with the eye?
They gave pain relief (meloxivet) and antibiotics (baytril), and told us to come back in 4 days.
The vet seemed incapable of checking the backteeth without a x-ray, so will head to the CCT to get them checked out. In the meantime, I feel very uneasy about giving antibiotics given the symptoms - does it make any sense that an issue with the back teeth could cause a problem with an eye?
