Recently, my guinea pig, Truffle, has had goop in his eye and it has become shineless and crusty. I am visiting the vet tommorow but does anyone have any idea what's wrong with him?
Hi and welcome to the forum to you both
I'm glad you're going to the vets, it does sound like little Truffle has an infection
Is his breathing ok? has he any discharge from the nose? these can/may be URI
You could gently wipe clean the eye with clean eye maker remover pads, using pre boiled and cooled right down water, then wipe away from the corner of the eye
Best of luck for little Truffle, let us know how you go
