Hello! Thank you for welcoming us to your forum!
We have two male guinea pigs who are three years old. Today we have noticed that one of “Scruffy’s” eyes is cloudy and swollen and has discharge. He seems fine otherwise, eating and drinking.
I will take him to the vet on Monday, but am wondering if anyone has had the same problem and can provide any ideas in the meantime?
Many thanks.

Also, I have looked beneath his eyelid and can’t see any hay or other foreign bodies.

Welcome to the forum

This means he has an eye injury (likely haypoke). It can be a momentary poke and not necessarily that the hay is still in there (but that does sometimes happen).
The clouding is signifying that his eye is ulcerating. The fact it is swollen is of major concern.
Are you able to get to a vet today (as an emergency - we know not everywhere has 24/7 vet cover)?
It would not be ideal for this to wait until Monday (eye issues are considered urgent and treatment needed within 24 hours of the issue occurring).

He will need antibiotics and painkillers prescribed by the vet. They diagnose ulceration by using a fluorescent dye in the eye.
We also recommend a lubricant to help aid healing

I hope he is ok
