I saw this eye lesion/red area, almost looks like the inner part of an eyelid, on my 15 month guinea pig today when I got home from work. It wasn't there yesterday.

Does not seem to be bothering him. His cage mate is very submissive so I dont think it would have been him.

Any ideas? I will be taking to a vet but wanted some advice as the vets are not very familiar with pigs in my area

That looks like pea eye to me, it is usually harmless but best to get him checked by a vet.

I'm not an expert, but could it be similar to this ? Red lump in eye

Alternatively, it looks a little like what happens if I rub my eye too much when it's irritated by hayfever - the inner corner gets red and inflamed. Also I just looked up about eyes, and apparently most animals have a 'third eyelid' and sometimes that can have problems.

I’d get the vet to look at it. Could be something caught under the eyelid or some sort of irritation.
