So pleased it went well for you and gorgeous Woog! Been thinking about you today. Hope her medication works and Woog has a speedy recovery. Get well soon Woog x

Thanks all :)

I'm so glad it's nothing too bad. Woog is in perfect health otherwise! She absolutely hates her eye drops though :))

Really pleased to hear she doesn;t need surgery....and hope the meds work!

However....please be aware that if internal pressure build up causing bleeds is the reason, then the meds themselves may not provide a permanent resoluton to the problem...hopefully this occurrence is a one-off and Woog should have no further problems.

Sorry to be a bit of a killljoy.but you need to be prepared.....

Well done Woog..keep; at it girlie

xxxxxx

Poor little Woog :( be good Woog and hopefully the eye drops and meds will clear up any infection that might be hiding grrr mallethead

Thank you for all your kind word

Today Woog is acting a bit strange. She's stumbling around and is not walking quite right. She's still eating and drinking, but I'm worried because she's never done anything like this before. I'm going to call the vet :(

Sorry to hear that, hope she will be ok. x

Thanks

Oddly, she's showing signs of a vitamin c deficiency! I don't know how that would be possible though, since she gets fresh veggies, dry pellets, hay, and grass everyday! :{ But I got my piggy Bob with scurvy and she's showing the exact same symptoms and acting just like Bob did. :{ I gave her a vitamin c tablet and the vet told me to not give her the eye meds tonight. She's got a vet appointment tomorrow. x

thats so strange that there is a C deficiency, as i know your pigs get the best care and I'm sure are getting ample doses of it, i wonder if the eye situation is affecting her ability to absorb it? idk just a thought. anyway, good luck tomorrow at the vet, and i hope Woog gets better and you get peace of mind!

That's what I was thinking too. The antibiotic she's getting is baytril, along with anti-inflammatory eye drops, and an antibiotic cream in the eye. If any of these is interfering though, I have no idea which one :{

oh nooooooooo :(:...
Whee hope that it's something the vet can fix quickly!

Lots of healing loves and wheeeeeeeeks for dear little Woog XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Thanks :)

I have an update! Woog has been to the vet, although she's getting better! The vet was a bit puzzled by how Woog was acting, since she's never had a piggy react negatively to any of the medication before. So she's off the meds for another day, and if she goes back to walking weirdly, then she'll be off the meds for good. The vet also said to give her vitamin c tablets.

She actually was walking almost completely normal although still a little wobbly, and she even managed to jump onto the roof of her little hidaway :) x

did he do some blood or urine tests to try and figure out why she was walking that way? does he think neurological ?

The vet thinks it's either the beginning of scurvy. But she also said it's possibly neurological if the swelling of the eye is interfering with some nerve, but the vet said it's more likely the scurvy. If it was neurological, she'd still be stumbling around and probably getting worse.

oh right :(
Dam i do hope you can curb the scurvy then love xx>>>xx>>>xx>>>xx>>>

Thanks :) I have no idea how she would have gotten scurvy, but I have experience in dealing with it. My piggy Bob had scurvy as a young pup. He was very lethargic and and had very stiff joints in his back legs. Even to this day, his legs are very stiff, but he had scurvy very bad. Thankfully Woog has the beginning of it and is already responding positively to the extra vitamin c.

Thank you for your support :)

Hey no worries love xx>>>xx>>>xx>>>

Thank goodness you've dealt with it before, at least you know what to expect and can act quickly !

COME ON WOOG xoxoxoxoxoxo
