Hello I was wondering if anyone could help me with a problem I have with one of my guinea pigs I have a 11 week old female guinea pig who seems to have some form of eye problem. It looks like a fatty lump under her top eye lid that has now dropped lower than her lid, she seems to be fine in herself and is eating but I am not sure if to leave it alone, treat it or take her to the vets any help is appreciated.

Sorry ive tried to add a photo but I dont know how. Any advice on adding a url ?

I'm no proffesional but i think it is an infection you should take him to a vets
does the guinea pig have a milky coulered water coming out of the eyes

No it is not weeping at all but it does have hairs growing out of it. I have looked online and there is a eye problem called pea eye, not sure if it could be that. At a loss what to do because she has had it about 4 weeks now and does not seem to be clearing up.

It does not seem to bother her even when i touch her eye so i dont think it is sore.

but if it doesnt heert it might just be a lump in the skin so maybe dont worry so much

could it be ingrowing eye lashes (entropion)? If so it can cause infection, i would have her checked by a vet for a proper diagnosis and treatment, the last thing you want is for an infection and then ending up with her having to have her eye removed - BIG BUCKS!

xx

Thanks for all your advice, think I will take her to the vets and get it checked out. Best to be on the safe side i think.
