EYE WATERING FROM HAY POKE!

Good luck with your piggy! Hopefully the vet can prescribe you with eyedrops. Either Isathal or Exocin can be prescribed.

Glad you could figure out how to go forward. Hope all goes well and that he has a great recovery!

Procedure-wise, I would think they'd look at her eye, maybe peek under her eyelids a bit. Maybe rinse with a sterile solution. Do an eye-stain and look in her eyes with a bright light and little magnifier for a closer look. They would likely also probably prescribe an antibiotic ophthalmic lotion for you to apply at home. That's basically what my vet did for my piggy's eye injury.

For after-care, I'd suggest trying to keep his cage super clean. Also, I use a blend of orchard grass and timothy hay by oxbow. Orchard grass is softer than timothy and has far fewer twig-like poky bits. Bit of a different nutrient profile - you can find lots of info that compares protein, fiber and calcium content of hay types if you want to know more.
Thanks so much! I took all hard hat out of cage. Leaving soft pieces and then I cut hay into smaller pieces as well. I always worried about this but I heard they need hard pieces for their molars. He runs through the hay all the time... he loves to do that. Oxbow hay is all really soft as well. I have a lot of Timothy Hay but I'll make sure it's all soft

Ok we are back!! She said no it's not hay poke😐 she did the dye the thing said theres no scratches ... she gave me antibiotics drops 3 times a day. Maybe he got his dirty paw in his eye? I dont know. I m sure the drops will heal him up. I had a heart attack myself over this. They are just so scared so it's hard to take them to vet... then assistant says "wow your pigs are so nice and tame "..
. Funny
