hi i was wondering how good piggies can see my partner reckons they have not got good eyesite i thought they use smell

They see very sharply on short distances (as they live in grasslands where they live in roaming groups and are keeping contact by voice; that's why they are chattiest when they are moving around), but will notice any sudden movements over longer distances (predators, especially birds!).
If I want mine to come to me over the whole length of the living/dining room, I wave and call. Hearing and smell are far better developed.
Their colour vision is also different. If you hold small bits of cucumber or carrot in the middle of your palm, they have to find it by smell, as they cannot really distinguish the bits from our skin colour.
