Hi everyone,

Just wondered if anyone has got/had these Ezi-Filla water bottle with the Guinea Pig Valve?

Are they better than the standard ones?

Thanks :)

I've got two of these and they are great, or at least they were until this week when for some reason both decided to empty their contents in to the cage - a pint of water each! When the first one did it I thought it must have been the piggy laying under it and touching the nozzle, but he wasn't wet (as he's a merino he would have been soggy mop). A couple of days later the other one did it too - no reason that I could see for it, no food or hay wedged to make it drip.

The other type I use are the Sippy bottles - I've had them a good while and no leaks.

Would you say the guinea pig valve ones are better than the standard ones? I'm after something that doesn't leak! The normal ball ones I have now are a pain, most days the piggies have flooded their cages :( (I have 9)

I prefer the sippy ones for the Ferplast cages as they are attached to the cage. I use a drip tray (corner litter trays) under all the bottles, no matter the design as lots of pigs are messy drinkers and so many like to pee while they drink too.

I have the john hopewell bottles and to begin witih the piggies had the Ezi-filla with the guinea pig valve and the ezi-filla with the regular valve. The pigs never used the GP bottle and always preferred the regular valve. So I stick to the regular valve Ezi-Filla bottles now - they never leak or drip.
