Just wondering has anyone else read this group - 'Please help close down this awful guinea pig and rabbit breeder'
it truly is shocking and the pictures are horrendous, be warned if you look! i have actulally cried over the piggy pics...and it takes a lot to make me cry. how can the rspca stand by and doing absolutly nothing?
just thought i would try and raise the awareness of the group a bit..on the chance that maybe some people from here could come up with some more ideas/places to try for help...or perhaps there are some rescues nearby who could offer places *if* this man does hopefully get closed down....
some of the comments are mind numbingly daft- 'hey lets all send hate mail!'- as if that will help! i guess there are places like him all over the country. its such a shame theres no regulation of these so called back yard breeders :(

I emailed the RSPCA in March regarding this individual; this was their (bog standard) reply.

We are a local Branch of the RSPCA covering Nottingham City and part of the county. The National RSPCA has issued the following statement re Mr H*****d

The RSPCA has been aware of issues at Willow Farm since late 2009 and has been monitoring the situation and providing advice to the owner. Other agencies, including DEFRA veterinary staff and the police, have been involved but to date there have been no apparent breaches of the Animal Welfare Act. The Society is aware that images have been circulated in relation to this incident but we are unable to confirm their date or exact location.

Advice has been given by our inspectors to improve the conditions for the guinea pigs and rabbits and although they are still not perfect, the Society is unable to do more at this stage.
We will continue to monitor the situation. If members of the public have first-hand experience of problems with this breeder they are recommended to call the RSPCA’s 24 hour Cruelty and Advice line 0300 1234 999.

Quite how they can say there are no apparant breaches of the Animal Welfare Act is beyond me! grrrr

i do believe the 'founder' of the group managed to get some animals off him who were very sick. he was going to kill them. i think others have bought from him just to get the animals out of there.

maybe if anyone on here has any conections to anyone that knows this person could help US to HELP any guineas in there that dont have much chance...not that most do..as I'm sure all us rescue could pull together and help out in anyway rescuing, transport, donations for vet bills?

omg, I really don't know why I looked at those pictures, poor babies :( That evidence can't be disputed!

Those photos are truely awful. I wish I still lived in Nottingham I'd be straight round there.
Does anyone know if anyone from Bramcote Rescue is a member on TGF? I think they're the closest rescue. I don't know if they're aware of the situation and can offer any help?

I signed and got an email on facebook from the group saying
" thank you everyone for your support, without you this wouldn't be possible, we may have some good news so we will keep you all updated, there is some hope for the animals in this mans place thanks to everyone on here, now you are making me feel like i'm getting somewhere with all of this"

so fingers crossed

I've signed - hopefully something can be done soon.

All I can say is, it's lucky for him I don't live closer grrrr

I am aware of this situation and I know a local rescue who has been involved in helping out some of the animals and taking more photos as eveidence of cruelty. I have not been there myself but if I did then I know I would not be able to come away empty handed. As sad as it seems I don't think the RSPCA will ever be able to put an end to this situation until the man dies. More people should get in touch with the local RSPCA to report him and they may make more visits.

I signed.

I emailed the RSPCA but got no response.
I just think it's too much trouble for them. :(
