Facebook Guinea Pig Posts Are Getting Me Down

The whole thing has made furious that anyone could treat the life of another creature as some commodity product, that as demand increases, the price goes up.

She's been extremely brazen about wanting as much money as possible for them, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

The "no pictures" thing is worrying. Searching the internet now for the pictures she's listed elsewhere as there are no clear piggies in them, so worried she's just lifted them from a forum like this.
 
Maybe she has but surely there are guinea pigs as people will not pay unless they see the pigs? They will only exchange money after the pigs have been given to them. She is so selfish and does not deserve them!
 
That's a very good point @piggyfan. Think my fury has affected my ability to think rationally.

I need to have a bit of a think.
 
Just to update you all - the guinea pigs have gone elsewhere.

I decided I wasn't going to enter into any form of bartering with this woman and put a price on what an animal's life is worth, so I said I'd take them for 50 quid and would pick them up Friday, with the plan being I'd take them straight to the foster carer for a once over.

That was the plan on Wednesday. Didn't hear anything back from her, aside from an "ok" message.

I knew she was local, but didn't have an address and her FB account appears to be under an alias. So, I made a few attempts to get in touch with her to confirm the pick up, but no response.

Friday came and went, and then she sent me a message this morning simply stating: "Pigs are gone to someone else."

So that, as they say, is that.

I hope they've gone to someone who really cares about them and is in a position to give them all the love and attention they deserve.

I can't quite bear think about the alternative outcome if they haven't.

Will be blacklisting all of these groups on Facebook from now on, on the advice of everyone on here, and thanks so much for all your support.
 
You have done your best so please do not feel bad. I think its very good you will no longer visit those sites.
 
I've not really joined piggy groups on facebook and if I don't like something I block them. My mum plays tons of games but I don't see any of the posts anymore and its great lol! Love that "hide all from" button :)
