Devastated that the bonding between ringo, zip and fudge has failed. Had them out yesterday in a large pen neutral area and bonding seemed ok for several hours. They all had a nap in the bonding pen. Once in fully disinfected cage, ringo was teeth chattering and lunged for fudge who ended up with a bloody nose after a scuffle. Separated back in separate cages. Fudge has a vet appointment today to check the bite it’s only tiny but bled quite a bit. No point in trying again is there once blood is drawn? I couldn’t believe he was the aggressor rather than the female. So so sad 😢😢.

@EJMA82 In general the rule is once blood is drawn then give up. But it depends on the pigs. Only you know whether it's time to give up unfortunately :(

What are you plans with your solo pig now?

Hi, do you have lots of hiding places where the pigs can escape if they're feeling vulnerable? We had a similar problem when introducing a new piggy but things seem to have quietened down now. They're little house has two entrances and there are two food bowls etc. The size of the cage is important too.

I really don’t know jaycey. ☹️

It’s a tough call. With NB sow groups you can try reintroducing at a later stage. When I bonded Mrs Fudge with Mr Ted she ended up with an injury to her snout. I did persist with reintroducing slowly over several days and she clearly forgave him and they lived happily together until she died as an old lady.
Was there anything in the cage causing friction? Did anyone get trapped? If the answer to either was yes, then changing cage layout/contents may work for another try.

i removed everything from the cage as per the bonding guide. Ive a few days off next week so may try again. Theyre both talking nicely through the bars again sniffing and bum wiggling then popcorning off.

Doesn’t sound like all is lost then. May be worth another try.
