This is a message I am saddened to have to write
I got Badger in December 2015 as a companion guinea pig for my Rupert.
Badger came home from the bonding session and he settled in straightaway.
However I had to take him to the vets in May as there were signs of blood in his urine. He was treated and there were no further signs of blood. However he lost weight and when I took him back to vets they kept him in to give him IV fluids. After xrays the vet informed me he had two stones between his kidney and bladder. He said they were inoperable and said Badger was in a very depressed state and they were unable to encourage him to eat. I took the decision to request the vet put Badger to sleep.
He was only 3 years old.
I never thought I would have lost him so soon after he came to me from the rescue last year.
But I hope he did have some enjoyment in his short time in my care.

I'm so sorry. Having lost my Mr Ted to a stone earlier in the year I can well understand your pain. Such a tough decision but the right one for Badger. Big hugs to you and Rupert. Popcorn free Badger xx

Oh no. So very sorry to read this Val. I don't swear very much but I certainly could about bladder stones in boars....I know our vets would have operated if they could so they must have been in a rubbish position.
I am sure Badger had a very special time with you and Rupert and received extra special care.
Sleep well lovely boy.

Thanks for all your support. @pig in the city and @lauraboara apart from his unusually positioned stones the vet also diagnosed severe arthritis from the x rays. So poor Badger must have been in severe pain.
Luckily I still have my bossy Amos and also my Rupert who despite his own health issues is holding his own at present, so I am concentrating on caring for them which really helps me.
(Oh also my 17yr old terrier keeps me busy.)

Oh no, I am so sorry Val to hear this. Really sorry for the loss of your beautiful little boy. He had such a wonderful life with you, please know you did all you could and made the right decision for him. Massive hugs to you x x x

Sleep well handsome boy

RIP badger

I'm really sorry. It's really unfair when they leave us so soon. Sending you big hugs honey x
