Dear little Hutch was helped over the rainbow bridge this morning. Hutch, you came to us at Christmas 2022 as a bereavement foster companion for depressed Bertie. Little Wheekers pulled out all the stops during the festive holiday period and we welcomed you to Piggie Mansions. With your cloudy eye and curly nails you looked like a pirate but your heart was pure gold. You bonded with top piggie Bertie with a ‘yeah whatever’ attitude wandering off to a hidey when Bertie asserted himself. You were like two old men enjoying companionship in later life. You had a scrumptiously big bottom which was mostly what we saw as you grazed merrily in the hay piles. Recently that big bottom had become a little scrawnier as is often the case in old age and you slept more than ate. When you refused your plate of critical care I guessed something amiss and a trip to the vet yesterday revealed a mass so we agreed on palliative care but sadly we didn’t get much more time. This morning you had some lush grass and your favourite coriander to take with you to the bridge. In your 6 years of life, I feel blessed that we had you for 1.5 of those. Sleep tight my little one. We are heartbroken 💔

Sorry for your loss. You gave Hutchie a wonderful retirement home full of love and care. He looks very happy in the photos you shared. Sleep tight Hutchie x

So sorry for your loss.
Hutch had a lovely last year and a bit with you.
You filled his life with love and care.
Be gentle with yourself as you grieve.

I am so very sorry for your loss. Try and take consolation in that Hutchie didn't suffer for long at the sharp end even if you didn't have time to really brace yourself. He was clearly much loved and had a great life with you.
