Its been a long time since I posted on a rainbow bridge forum and I was starting to think we may get a year without losing one but not to be. I personally have lost one of my "clan" and my partners family lost their family pet too so I'm going to leave a tribute to them both.

Squeak - our little girl. We lost you on December 22nd. You lost so much weight we knew you have caught the same thing we lost Chloe and Patch to. We knew there would be nothing we could do for you. We fed you your favourite treats and we brought you in every day while we warmed up the heat mats for you. You always looked at us with such love, lifting your head up to sniff at us. You were always a cuddly guinea. Adopted from the RSPCA with your sister you were always the shy one of the two but never too shy when it came to rustling the bag of carrots :) You were so thin, we knew it would be a tough winter for you but unfortunately you were not strong enough. Your sister misses you terribly, she isn't doing too good. Please come and be with her through her tough time. We are taking you to be cremated tomorrow and you can join all the others we have lost previously. Please be a good girl at the bridge with your friends. We will see you again....love you hun x

Morton - my partners familys pet rabbit. You had been ill for so long. At 9 years old the vet said he would be surprised if you survived 2 weeks. That was July. You were so strong but not strong enough. We don't know what happened to you in the end. Fine in the morning, gone by 9pm on Christmas day. We knew the life in you had gone but your little heart continued to beat for a little while. We wrapped you up and held you until your heart gave in. You will be missed my friend, both by us and your adopted family. As I told your family you found them, they didn't find you. I know my rabbits here will miss your company when you visit us. Your eyes are better now, you can see again! An old boy, long lived and much missed. Be strong and be good at the bridge. We will meet again...

I'm so sorry for your losses. RIP Squeak and Morton - precious much loved little ones.

I am so sorry that you lost poor both Squeak and Morton so close to Christmas! I am sending Squeak's sister my vibes and hope that she can pull through the winter!

I am so sorry about your gorgeous Squeak and your partner's family rabbit little Morton. 8... I'm sure they are both in a happy place now. :( All though you, your family and Squeak's sister will miss Squeak very much, little Squeak will make that all better and will look down on you all and keep you safe. :) The same with Morton, he will be forever missed but he will be happy and will look down on everyone who loved him. Big Hugs, Emma x

RIP Squeak and Morton may you both run free at the bridge, Squeak will be popcorning and Morton binkying in the fields of clover and dandelions, so sadly missed by all your family xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))) and special little loves for your grieving sister and all your family xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Another little star now twinkling in the sky .............. :(

i dont think i will ever get fully over holding Morton and feeling his heart slowing and the warmth of life ebbing away from him in his final moments.

We came by Morton by pure chance. When my Mum and sister were in the village shop a builder came in with this little rabbit in his hands and asked the shop owner if they knew anybody who could take on the Rabbit as it was following the builders round the housing estate they were building and they couldnt find who owned him. Mum and sister overheard and took him. It seemed only right to call him after the village he was found in! A couple of years later he won the best pet award at the villages annual gals. A fitting award! Such a clever Rabbit who when it was time to go out in his run didnt need helping! You could open his cage door and take his food bowl and water bottle over to the cage and he would jump down and make his own way there usually after a wonder round the garden but he always made his own way to the run!
Goodbye good friend and i will see you again some day. x
