hey y’all , after separating my bunny and piggy for their own good regardless of their deep friendship, i wanted to make my sad piggy happy and was wondering if there are fruits guinea pigs like a lot or in particular , it’s my first time having a guinea pig , I have given him a bit of banana and kiwi he likes it.
Do you have any fruit suggestions ?

My pigs absolutely love grapes and a bit of a apple. You can also give them melon, strawberries ,raspberry , blueberries .
Hope this helps.

My guinea pigs also enjoy cantaloupe, plums, grapes (seedless), apple, strawberry, cranberry, blueberry and watermelon. But since fruits are high in sugar I feed fruits occassionally. I am also pretty new owning guinea Pigs. I adopted a pair 9 months back and now I own more than 5. Does your piggy have a friend?

Mine aren’t big fruit eaters (possible because I’m not either!) but they love watermelon and really like pear. Other melon types are pretty good too, but apple is a bit hit and miss

Problem with my piggy is that he is really not sociable, btw when I first saw him in the store all guinea pigs were playing and running and sleeping on each other, while he was in his corner alone and pretty sad. And I tried again to socialize him with another guinea pig, and he injured him!

Thanks for your answer I’ll consider :)

Thank you for separating him from your rabbit. It really is for the best.

Are you going to get him a piggy friend? :)

I would really like to, but my guinea pig doesn’t seem to stand other guinea pigs… from the very beginning !

I get your concern that your guinea pig is not that very sociable. But keep trying to take him for dates. Let him try and pick his own piggy from rescues. Since I am also new piggy owner I adopted two piggies in September initially but

I get your concern that your guinea pig is not that very sociable. But keep trying to take him for dates. Let him try and pick his own piggy from rescues. Since I am also new piggy owner I adopted two piggies in September initially. Both were 2.5 months old. But one piggy died in just one month's time due to birth abnormalities. I decided to bring up just one piggy. She was initially happy and then starting getting sad. I took her to pet shops and breeders (we don't have rescues in my place) and made her try choice her cage mate. She hated everyone. After long struggle of three months she choice her cage mate. Now she is so happy. So please try and get him a friend. Even if you feel he hates other piggies

Hi
A friend in the cage next to him will get him socialised, try rearranging his cage daily to keep him interested in his environment. Fruit can be given weekly, mine love cherries and grapes. Although some can cause loose beans ;)

My guinea pig loves strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, watermelon, and grapefruit.

Would you try herbs also, mine love their herbs?
Mine love fruits but I can't give too much but they sure love their herbs like cilantro, parsley, basil, dandelion, and etc. Their staple is romaine lettuce and baby spring veggies, but they also get large amount of herbs along with their veggies.

My two girls go absolutely nuts for a chunk of watermelon! Bell peppers are their favourite veg - they usually get this 4 times a week. Green and yellow are the best for them, red is a little higher in sugar (which is probably why it's their favourite colour out of the lot!) :)
