I've been using Pillow Wad woodshavings. They work well and are OK, not coarse. Nature's Own woodshavings are good 👍

You will have to remove wet patches of bedding daily no matter what brand disposable bedding you use. This becomes even more important as we go to summer due to be risk of fly strike.

As you know, I use softchip. I remove wet patches daily and top up. The rest of the cage doesn’t need to be changed (aside from poop picking) for the rest of the week. I also use snowflake shavings (it was cheaper at my local farm so gave it a go a few months ago) which are also the same in terms of cleaning

I liked megazorb but as it isn’t compressed like snowflake is, it didn’t last long enough to be cost effective for me

understood, don’t worry i wouldn’t leave the girls in a nasty cage! currently doing one full cage clean x1 a week like you and just topping up patches that need it, do you replace the wet newspaper underneath too when you do the patches or just put fresh stuff on top?

i love megazorb but like you say just £££!

I know you wouldn’t!

When I was using newspaper, I didn’t remove it every day as it didnt need to - the bedding absorbed urine so well it took a few days before the newspaper needed to be replaced.
I dont use newspaper underneath anymore - my supply has dried up. I just clean the correx once a week with f10.

But it really isn’t a brand thing - shavings are shavings and perform pretty much the same no matter what the brand.
I like snowflake and the fact it comes in 15/20kg bales really helps - with four animals to bed, I go through a lot!

Some brands of woodshavings are definitely nicer than others 🙂 luckily in the UK all woodshavings have to be kiln dried and dust extracted so pet bedding should be safe enough generally.
