Ok, so Dalila was diagnosed with Arthritis in the spine a month ago following an x-ray to get the bottom of her sudden weight loss. She was also experiencing the soft fecal symptoms before going onto metacam; so I am not entirely sure now whether it is something else or it is to do with the metacam? I believe that Daisy too is experiencing similar and having smaller and wetter fecal output, it really is hard to tell. However both are otherwise doing well, they are gaining weight well and although their weights fluctuate; we've not had a significant weight drop in quite some weeks.

I am wondering whether the metacam could potentially be making the gastrointestinal tract sensitive hence the output that is coming out of her. Or whether it could be related to her spinal arthritis and that she doesn't have much control over her bowel? Or is is that a bit of an extreme speculation? I think I read somewhere before that there is something that can be given alongside long term drugs to try and support and promote healthy gut bacteria etc. I have bio-lapis and vetark pro-c however I don't give it as they don't seem to take it, whenever I try to syringe it; the little monkey's refuse to swallow. So ideally we would need a proper drug and not a runny liquid.

Anyway on a positive not without tempting fate, Daisy has been abscess free for 5 weeks now! Hooray! I am going to be emailing JC to discuss the issues and send of some photos of her output, but I thought I would also post on here to see if anybody has any ideas. I had to give them a bath yesterday, as the poo ends up getting on Dalila's feet, but today she has more on them. So I am going to have to give them a wipe later.

Please top your girl up with fibrous hand feed or fibreplex, and all should be OK again. ;)

I agree that it looks like more fibre is needed (or less fresh veg). Have you tried sprinkling Pro-C on their food? That works the best with my pigs.
