Hi everyone,

My piggie is having issues where she gets staining on her hind end, but every now and then it looks like feces have been caked on too. I clean them every week and this doesn’t happen all the time, but I’m worried about her.

She has ovarian cysts that she is scheduled to get removed in July.

Any advice is appreciated. Photo included below

Hello
Ah your sweet piggy …what is her name ?
Is she struggling to clean herself ? Maybe she can’t wash herself very well
I don’t have any experience of this
Hopefully someone will be along who does.

Hi

It sounds like she may struggle to clea herself. Please change the area she is sitting in most daily in order to avoid urine scald and check her bum for stuck on poos daily for the time being.

You may find the care tips in this guide here very helpful - they also work during post-op recovery.

Her name is Bea Arthur. I feel like she moves so well that I am shocked if she has limited mobility.

Emailed her vet to see if we need to move her surgery up or come on to be seen

Is there an easy way to asses her mobility? I feel like she walks so well.

Also, is there anything I can put of her hind end to help soothe her skin? After her butt bath last night a chunk of fur came off and her skin is super red. (To be clear I was very gentle during the bath lol)
