Hi, I'm mid developing my youtube channel and I am hoping to make lots of informative guinea pig videos. I've just made my first 'informative' one.

It's about visual health checks which you should be doing every day on your guinea pigs. For most of us it's second nature to check the things I do in the video but I hope that it will maybe inform new owners about what to look out for.

On the other hand I would like your feedback on the video, to let me know what you would add / change about it as I want it to be correct and as interesting/factual as possible.

I have stated in the video several times about vets and seeking advice about things as well as how I am not trained and it's just a guideline.

Here is the video: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=es5hqwV8_FQ"]Visual guinea pig health check - YouTube[/ame]

P.S. Any requests appreciated.
I plan to do a 'sequal' to this one about physical health checks/weighing.
Also maybe a nail clipping video.

Thank you.

This is really good, it has a lot of information in it! Good job and lovely little cute piggies :))

oooh i love your videos - especially the one with the dog teddy and you getting willy to interact with him - genius x)x)x)

This one is especially informative - will keep an eye out for more of your video's :)

You've included some really useful information. Just a couple of suggestions. When there was quite a lot of writing, I felt the page changed too quickly for people who read slowly, I struggled and I'm a fairly quick reader. It didn't give time to read and then ingest what you'd said before it moved on. Also one spelling error: withdrawal.
Hope you take this in the way it's meant and not as a criticism.x>>

No that's good! Thanks. :)
D'oh for spelling that wrong though!

I gave you a thumbs up -c very good

Oh yeah and I have to agree some bits disappeared to quickly before I had finished reading them. Just a couple of seconds longer :)

Great! :))

Only criticism of it is the wood shavings :red

I wanted to look at it, but mother is unwell again, so I have to go round to her place. :( Will watch as soon as possible, though, as I think it's a great idea! Thanks!

Could you include weighing weekly :)!

Same problem as the other's page moved on to quickly... other than that it was great!

That was great and very useful to a new piggie person like me! The only thing I wondered about was, how do you check the colour of their urine? My two pee in the hay and newspaper under their water bottle, so I can't tell what the colour is...

I'm going to include weighing in the weekly physical health check video flint stones :)

As for checking wee on hay/newspaper i think you could check the newspaper for blood etc. don't be alarmed if there's a white mark though as their wee can leave calcium marks.

This is a great idea! I love making youtube videos and I've been thinking for a while of doing a guinea pig channel with lots of helpful advice videos like this. Fab!

I think this is good, a useful quick guide for piggie newbies, well done. Only criticism: it should be 'bear in mind' not 'bare in mind' ! (Sorry if you think this is picky) :red

It took me ages to decide which one was right, damn! Not picky at all thanks x

Good, just a few little things. A few times the text was cut off at the edge of the screen. You have said blood is self explanatory, it is unless you don't know that a urine infection or bladder stone can cause blood in the urine. That slide is not perhaps as clear as it should be and it does disappear very quickly, i had to pause it to read it. I would have said something like "Should you find blood in the cage or on one of your guinea pigs check for injury ..." and then explain about getting a wee sample to check the colour if you can't find any external injury.
Hope that helps :)

That's great thanks. I want to make it as helpful as possible so I'll probably do a revised version early next week. X

I agree, longer time for reading..and correct the several spelling issues...but other than th at its a goodo video and very cute piggys by the way

What a great video, hopefully lot's of people can pick up advice from this, can't see why it would get a dislike?:(:( probably jealous that they didn't come up with the idea xx
