I have two piggies who are bonded Sparky and Harry, Harry is very chilled out lad whereas Sparky is loud and in your face, he's also a dustbin!:))

Sparky is busy piling the weight on whereas Harry is getting thinner and has lost a lot of weight, it doesn't take a genius to work out whats going on, Sparky whos the quicker feeder of the two is eating more food than Harry.

So at meal times I have started taking Harry out of his cage and putting in a piggy bed for an hour or so along with his food, has anyone else had to do this and am I doing the right thing?/

ABsolutely - I've had the same thing with Zippy and George - George looks like he eat all the pies, and Zippy was looking a bit skinny!

I've moved them into a larger hutch and given them 3 food bowls, at separate ends, so they don't have to compete for food, I do the same with veg and piles of hay.

They eat all day long, so although taking yours out to have his food is a nice idea, the rest of the day they'll probably still be bickering, so lots of piles of food is best!

Thanks, what I have done this morning is fed them seperate then when Harry has gone back in I have put more food into their cage to share

Sounds great, do you weigh them? If so will be interesting to see if it makes a difference. I haven't weighed Zippy but must remember to do so at the weekend!

Yes and Harry had lost a lot of weight over the past few months and Sparky has piled it on.

I think they both enjoy having a little of space to themselves over the course of the day though they are always pleased to see each other when Hary to goes back

hi

hi hope my favourites boys are ok give them a hug from me

A couple of bowls of food at different ends of the hutch or cage and put a pile of veggies at each end would help. Encourage Harry down one end to eat his tea.

Is there much weight difference between the two?

Is Harry ok otherwise? Not drinking more? Just checking that his weight loss is just down to not being as quick to eat his food as Sparky.

Harry was checked over the other week, only 4 weeks ago and was found to be in good health, they have seperate bowls but Sparky just dives in Harrys when he's finished his and Harry is so laid back he just walks off without complaint and lets Sparky nick his food.

Tonight I fed Harry and Sparky seperately and within 15 minutes Sparky had cleared his supper and begging for more food where as Harry was sat on the sofa slowly munching away at his not even quarter finished and he got the same amount of food-a large handful of spinich and a handful of mixed salad, they get fed twice a day

Forgot to mention there is around 1 lb 4 oz differnces in their weights Harry has always been the smaller pig but Sparky has put alot of weight and Harry has lost a lot!
