Here are some photo's of today's feeding frenzy :) Enjoy! The pigs get their fresh stuff this evening lol!

Bit of a blurry "after" photo of my canary William that I "rescued" from an overcrowded cage in a certain petstore. My mom forbids me to look at the birds anymore because they are so awfully treated and she knows I would try to take all the worst home. Don't worry, his nails will be trimmed tomorrow. I had to catch my other canary for his beak trim and they fly around like mad and get all flustered so I like to leave it to one catch per day lol

The first "before" of William the day I bought him from the petstore. Once birds smell blood, either the injured bird needs to be removed or the blood stopped and cleaned up because all the other birds in the cage will go after it and bully it to death. I'm fairly certain that this is what was happening to poor William. I managed to talk them into half price (which is ridiculous considering I was doing them a favour, but they know nothing of birds) and they couldn't even guarantee the bird was male. I figure it's karma for me since he did indeed turn out to be male and has a beautiful song :) They had him housed with budgies- who should never be housed with birds like canaries and finches because they can easily bite off a leg as their beaks are quite strong.

The second of William. These feathers eventually fell out (most bird owners will pluck them but I didn't have the heart) and now he has some nice new tail feathers that came in. He also had horrifically turned out nails which I fixed with the proper sized perches.

Sherlock and Tiger the quail enjoying their veg and mealworms!

They love their veg and fruit!

My finches :) The lighter coloured birds were all born about a month ago. There's one more that isn't pictured. I wanted a few females and it looks like I ended up with 2 boys and a female! Lol! Oh well, that's how it goes ;)

Big beautiful Paddington (who turned out to be a female! I still call her Paddy though) who came from the petstore with a mutated beak. It has to be trimmed quite often as it grows straight down from the sides and prevents her from eating properly. She loooooves banana!

And finally, a pig! Oreo was the only one really interested in having her picture taken outside of the igloo today!

More Oreo!

Little wee Vixen hiding in her igloo. She gave me a right scolding when the flash accidentally went off! Whoops, sassy little lady!

Oh poor William. What a sad story he has. Stupid pet stores! Thank goodness he is with you now. All your babies are stunning.

Lovely to see your winged and furry family all together in one thread!
