Just under 3 weeks and they finally trust me enough to take food from my hands. I'm one proud dad right now 😊😋

What would you guys say the next step should be intrust excersises?

Just based on how I’m working with 2 new piggies how about when you clean the cage giving them each a cuddle.
My baby Phoebe is very shy and skittish so the first time I picked her up in a snuggle pouch and she sat on my lap in her pouch while I gently stroked her.
On Saturday she came out in her pouch but allowed me to take her out of the pouch and sit on my lap for a short while before she went back in the pouch
It takes a lot of time and patience but it sounds as if you’re doing really well

My girlfriend is really good at getting to stroke them but me not so much and vice versa with food.

I'll give is a couple more days of hand feeding before attempting to lift them as I'm not brilliant at it and I don't think they trust me to do that just yet.

Pigsandbunnies they will do eventually I waited until they we're making the "feed me" nice before I went for it and even then they're more snatching it out of my hand. At least they're responding to the phrase "bokbok" now and they know food is coming.

Have you read this guide yet? It is very good.

Settling In And Making Friends With Guinea Pigs - A Guide

Mine go mad when they hear me say "dindins" cos they know they are getting their veg dinner.
I still think you need a piggy feeding song so the piggies know humans are harmless idiots! Last weekend (after a few glasses of prosecco) I decided to sing a piggy feeding song to the tune of the sailor's hornpipe while dancing round the cage throwing in handfuls of hay and coriander: "Piggy pig pig pig, piggywiggypiggywiggypiggy pig pig pig, piggywiggy pig pig!" Jezebel and Piggle were following me around and dancing too, they were up on their hind legs begging for coriander, but Clover and Puggle think they are just too cool to join in with that sort of thing...
@Rugrat some piggies will adapt to you very fast and others will be more reserved, but if they see you every day being that harmless source of veggies and if you dont grab at them or try push the human interactions further than they are happy with then they should hopefully become your friends very soon! Not all piggies like stroking and cuddles that much but they all like food (and songs :) )
