Hi my pigs usually have unlimited hay and recently they have been having some of this feeding grass and seem to love it. I was wondering if anyone uses this instead of hay or if it should just be an addition to their diet alongside hay.
Thankyou!

I am far from an expert as we don't get readigrass here (as far as I know), but I beleive this is high in calcium and should only be fed in very small amounts alongside regular hay.

we also don't get readigrass in Italy, but I have read the label and the analisys of the components of a brand of readigrass (it was when @Tim asked the same question of you) and it seems to be really good indeed; there was also the amount of calcium and it was very low. Readigrass contains fibres and just like hay it is useful for the teeth and the gut. Also fresh grass is very good for eroding teeth and readigrass keeps many of the vitamins of the fresh grass.
If you read the label on your bag you will see the components and you will realise how good is that "dry grass".

I know a few people who use this mixed in with their pellet feed and feed it every day as part of the 5% dry part of the diet. My lot absolutely love it but unfortunately even with gloves on I'm very allergic to it, id be giving it every day otherwise! Plus it smells lovely, I think.

i give my girls a handful of this on top of their normal hay ONCE a week on Sunday - its their little treat !

I feed this more in the winter when it's impossible to get any fresh grass. It's a supplement so small amounts only. Hay as much as they can eat! Plus lots to burrow in. I love the smell and think the piggies do too as they rush out wheeking when I open their Readigrass.

I know that someone on the rabbit forum free feeds it to her rabbits and that wheek and squeak rescue recommend giving piggies a bowl of readigrass every day.

I use mine in winter when fresh grass is more difficult to pick.
