Does anyone feed horses hay to their Guineans? I have a horse and i would save so much money if I used some hay from the yard but not sure if it's safe
I swear by it. If you're happy with the quality for your horse then it will be OK for your piggies. @ £4 a bale I use it for bedding too. One bale lasts about 3 weeks for 10 piggies & 2 rabbits. My current hay is the best I've ever had & that includes all the expensive bagged hay. I discovered it earlier this month when I did a piggy train involving over 40 piggies. The woman who was having to let them go told be who the supplier was which is about 55 miles from me but we like the North Yorkshire countryside & have a trip over that way every couple of months so will get 3 bales every time we're near there.
I believe as long has it doesn't have molasses (which I think some horses hay has?) it should be fine. If it's green and smells nice and not sticky, should be good. Do you know what type of hay it is? Meadow hay is great.
They are a bit bigger, much bigger than the original photos I saw of them!
The one with crazy hair (first photo) was Bruno but is now Bertie, and we kept the others name, Edwin
This is good news to me as my mans grandpa lives on a farm! Sometimes I give the pet store people ish about the crappy items and sometimes crappy hay they sell because sometimes it seems like they just don't know anything :/. But now I'm thinking I can just get nice fresh hay from the grandpa!
