Can I ask - does everyone feed veg half in morning half at night?

Its been years since I had babies & Billy was SO difficult he wouldn't eat veg in the evening if he'd had it in the morning - only cucumber so he used to get a pile of grass for his dinner.

Also do people really just give a couple of sprigs of coriander?! I'd worry only one pig would get it all!?

So do I feed veg twice & grass in between?!

I feel so out of touch haha

I feed veg/grass split morning and evening and they get a little something when I get home from work, usually a little bit of lettuce.

I feed grass every time they wheek and a good handful of corriander most days. They love cuecumber red pepper mixed salad leaves and occasional carrot tops. Veg fed in small portions throughout the day.

They love hay and get very excited when i put a new handful in.

grass is the best veg for them... considering that most of common vegs are rich of water, but quite poor in nutrients (as they are even forced to grow fast). If your (smart) piggie prefers grass, it is very healthy for his gut. I serve the vegs in the late evening, sometimes I add some left-over grass. They eat everything during the whole night and at 10-11 am they start wheeking for their (huge!) amount of fresh grass (different types) which they go on eating during the day (and hay of course).

Yep I agree I give lots of grass...

I give half their veg in the morning and half at night. I also give about 3 pieces of coriander each but I am also worried about one pig eating it all so I hand feed the coriander to them. Yesterday I had a heap of coriander going slimy at the bottom so instead of wasting it I chopped the still fresh top bits off and scattered it through their cage, it was like a piggy scavenger hunt but it kept them busy for a while lol. I do not give grass, our gardener sprays as we have weedy lawn.

I should add I chucked the slimy coriander away after chopping the good stuff off.

Ah yes, can they have too much coriander then? I thought it was a safe one high in vet c! Mine won't take food off me yet I am still the scariest thing in the world so I can't hand feed but I think they are both getting some... they sit & divulge it all at the same time haha

Re coriander - We give our 2 girls 2 sprigs each in morning and 2 each at night. It's their favourite and they go daft for it! So we hand feed them it first, and have trained them to put their 2 front paws onto our hand first and reward them with the coriander! So so cute! That's how we have managed to tame them so well as they always associate our hands with a reward!
