I am posting this on behalf of @Perfectpets11, who would be very grateful for your input:

I haven't been on the forum long. My piggies live outside all year round (in the winter they move into the garage and have a 20ft hutch). In summer they move out onto the grass everyday. (They have one of those hutches where the run is on the bottom and they have a level with a bedroom) at the moment though, they move into the garage where they have a large cage at night. They move back out In the morning again. I was just wondering that if the pigs are on the grass all day do they need veggies at night?!? My piggies are only nibbling the grass at the minute as they are new to being outside again from last year. They hate the birds lol. I would love my pigs to be inside but we have a dog who hates my poor little pigs x
So that's all I was wondering - do pigs need veggies if they are on the grass all day?!?
I was wondering this as too much calcium isn't good. They often get dandelion leaves too. About a handful every couple of days (the leaves are small though)

my pigs are similar, they spend quite a bit of time on grass during the day, so they get less veg on those days.

Ours don't get grass, only hay. Rarely get dandelions, but love them, along with clover, when I find a "safe field". They get veg daily, I watch their poop to tell if they are getting too much. As long as it stays firm, or the b-vitamin poop, I know they are in the right zone.

Wow they don't get grass!?! They must be pretty happy on hay! We only feed grass as it's part of a natural diet x

Well, it's Timothy hay, so it's a dry grass, not hay as straw hay.
