hi,i took my bunny to the vets two weeks ago as one of his eyes had pus coming out of it all the time.i tried bathing it everyday but it just wouldnt clear up.the vet gave me drops but it hasnt worked so now i have to take him back again.it could be a teeth problem i just dont know what i have done wrong i give I'm vegtables to wear his teeth down so i just dont know what else i could do for him.if this wasnt bad enough i took my oldest guinea out of the hutch and noticed that she has a lump on her back near her bottom so shes got to go to the vet too now.i really try my best with my pets i make sure they eat the right stuff and i clean them out regularly.at the moment i just feel like a failure as i lost one of my other guineas a few months ago.I'm dreading tomorrow when i have to take them to the vets i cant bare to loose anymore pets this year :0

oh try not to worry, the bunny could have an abcess on a tooth, this could be sorted, and the piggy might just have a fatty lump, good luck tomorrow x

i have had a few rabbits and they have all had teeth problems.i just dont understand it.I'm dreading it if they say he has to be put to sleep and then they find something serious that cant be sorted as this has happened to me before with another bunny.we get so attached to our pets dont we.I'm hoping my guineas lump is only something that can be sorted.I'm terrified of them being put to sleep and not waking up again.sorry for moaning x

Please don't blame yourself, we don't have control over alot of things. Sometimes our pets get ill and we can't prevent that. You are doing the right thing by getting them seen by a vet. Hope they both get better soon x

thanks its just having two pets ill at the same time it really knocks your confidence doesnt it.i really do care for them thats why i got my shed so they didnt have to spend another winter outside x

Rabbits always have teeth problems. This is so common and nothing to do with how you care for them. If your rabbit is a lop then it is even more common for them to have teeth problems as they have been bred to have narrow faces. My bunny has had operations to remove his teeth and it is nothing major. He was fine after so please do not worry. It is very likely your rabbits teeth are pressing into his eye and causing an infection. This can easily be sorted out and your little man will be back to normal.

It is bad luck your guinea pig has a lump. What did the vet say about it?

my guinea hasnt been to the vets yet as i only saw the lump on friday last week.I'm at the vets tomorrow afternoon with them both.

thanks so much for your advice on my bunny hes a big bunny just an ordinary bunny.hes the tamest bunny we have ever had he has such a great nature.hes been so good when i have been putting his drops in bless him.

well ive been to the vets today and my guinea has an abcess shes told me to just keep an eye on it and if it gets any bigger or I'm worried then to get in touch.she also said she was in very good health.she said her coat was lovely and she was a good weight.that made me feel a bit better.I'm doing something right then lol.

my poor bunny has to go back on monday morning.his teeth have to be filed down and his tear duct flushed out as he has so much pus come out when she pushed on it.poor thing i will be glad when hes had it done

one last thing done vets charge a massive amount.i dont know how they expect people to afford it.xx

Michelle Ive just taken my bunny to have her teeth filed today and she is fine having them done, shes just not eating very well at the moment and shes a lop like someone else had said. Ive got her on recovery at the moment, she tried a bit of dandelion leaf before and a bit of hay so hopefully she will start eating.

Its shocking what they charge, ive been charged 90 pound in total and I'm out of work at the moment its really got me down, just hope she starts eating properly as she has a wound in her mouth from them being over grown.

Hope they get it all sorted hun, Ive decided I'm having no more pets after my bunny and 3 guineas, I cant take it anymore when there ill and I lose them. I dont cope very well with it.

aww i hope your bunny is better soon.mine is eating ok and he seems ok as ive had him in the garden this afternoon.its just his eye has a lot of pus coming out of it and as the drops havent worked the vet said she needs to have a look at his teeth.i asked how much it would be and she said £85/£90 so its the same as yours plus it cost me £39.50 today and two weeks ago it cost me just over £40 i think they think we are made of money.

i know what you mean when one of our pets has died its devasting isnt it.but i just cant be without them as i love to hear the guineas in the morning when i go and see them.I'm not sure i would have another rabbit as all the rabbits i have had have had teeth problems.I'm just hoping max has it done on monday and he is ok.it really is worring isnt it.xx

They know they can charge it cause they know we love our animals so much we will pay it even though I do say wow thats a bit steep, But its either pay or they dont get the treatment so at the end of the day we pay it and they know we will.

I cant live without animals as I'm the same as you but I dont know if I can cope anymore just nursed my guinea pig back to health, he was having fits and had fungal and mite infection, hes so much better now so I started to relax and now this with lopsey.

Hope all goes well hunnie, seems to be a very common problem about teeth with Rabbits then, he will feel so much better once they have sorted it, keep us informed

thats good news about your guinea I'm glad its ok.i always say when one dies I'm not having anymore as its just too upsetting and then after a few days i give in and get another one as like i say its just so quite without them.i hope your bunny is back to full health soon.i will let you know how mine does on monday.x
