my male pig runs around puring whilst my female trys to mount him. Why is she doing this

My young Toffee does this with my boar, she is most probably in heat and a little confused! If she is anything like toffee she will wind him up until he starts to mount her then she will run off!

All my girls mount each other, so I think at times they just get a little too overenthusiastic and 'do it wrong'

Sounds like your girl is in season! Some sows will mount any other girls or even boars.
