Can I feed my guinea pig ferns? ? Just wanted to check before I accually did it.

I'm not sure i spentages looking on the web for you but couldnt find anything about fern sorry ? I havent fed it to my piggys before so i wouldnt know

I wouldn't feed pigs ferns. I know that the wild ones that grow here (sometimes called bracken) are poisonous (http://museum.gov.ns.ca/poison/bracken.htm) and the ones that grow in fields called Ragwort regularly kill horses. Don't know about other ones though but I would steer clear!

"If in doubt, leave it out!" was often shouted at me when I first had guineas. I've stuck by it ever since and had lots of happy little piggy pals. One had pneumonia and another had a stroke, but so far as I know none have ever suffered illness from what I've fed them. O0
