Poor Dizzy. I do hope she will be alright, but if she's chosen to go then having you to love her will mean she will go in peace and happiness. Fingers crossed for her and weeks from my girls.
 
I'm so sorry to hear this. If all options have been exhausted then I would be just inclined to just make her comfortable. x
 
After Dizzy has refused so emphatically all syringed food and drink (including biting my finger despite her weakness and somehow scrambling out of the cage on another occasion and refusing to swallow anything), I have decided to respect her wish and am making her as comfy as possible with lots of fresh hay to snuggle onto and the others just through the bars of her hospital cage. They've all paid her a visit and have been keeping her company throughout the evening. I don't expect her to go tonight, yet, but as I'm sleeping in the living room anyway, because of our visitors, I'll be there. She's just had one of her more lively moments and has been wobbling around the cage, and been out for a little cuddle.

Unfortunately, it's my mother's birthday tomorrow and we will be out for the whole afternoon and evening, which won't make things any easier... Murphy's law in action again, I guess!

Thanks, I've just checked, and she's still here, unchanged. I don't expect her to go tonight yet, but she's already very weak and light as feather when you lift her up for cuddle.
 
I was afraid that since you were on this late/early that you were bearing bad news.

Can't express how much my heart is going out to you and Dizzy.
 
Bless her, i hope she drifts off very quietly in her sleep :(
But as you said to me it doesn't get any easier does it :(

I'm sorry to hear the news Weibke, I think we all know how much your piggies mean to you. It is hard watching a pig fade away but she's in the best place possible, surrounded by everything she loves. There's no better way to go than to just drift off peacefully. Sending lots of love and hugs to you and your gang. xx
 
there is always hope,and I'm crossing my fingers that a miracle happens for Dizzy,i hope everything is ok,sending lots of piggy snuggles to Princess Dizzy and lots of hugs to you too x
 
Dizzy is still there, but fading and already getting stiffer.

oh poor Dizzy,she looks like she is still holding her dignity as i suspected she would,llewi looks very cuddly with her,she doesnt look to well,I'm sending lots of love from us all,how are you holding up? x
 
Oh I'm so sorry, poor girly, I've been keeping my fingers crossed but she does look very poorly. I do think they appreciate you being with them though.

I'm OK - I have to with the house full of people and my mum having birthday.

I've made up the old cage like it used to be and have just put her in there with Llewi, to see whether that works for her.

hopefully it works well,I'm sure she would love the cuddles from him,maybe its a good thing you have things to preoccupy you at least you can try to take your mind of things a little,easier said than done though x
 
We're off to Stratford now - I've told her that she is free to leave whenver she's ready...

My OH will check on her until 5pm.
 
I do feel so badly for you, because your love for your piggies shines through, and it's heartbreaking when you have to go through this. Many hugs from here, and a gentle passing for Dizzy when she chooses to go. She's been blessed with your love, and will know that. :(
 
I have only just seen this thread. I am so sorry that Dizzy isn't well :( The only advise I can give is to make her as comfortable as possible. I just want you to know that you and Dizzy are in my thoughts. Please give her a kiss from me. I feel sad as she is a lovely girl xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
 
Dizzy has stirred a bit when I came home and gave her a cuddle in her cuddle cup; otherwise nothing has changed. She's not eaten or drunk all day, and hardly anything for the last three days...
 
Sorry if I missed it but are you syringing her any fluids? If she's not taking any water at all then perhaps your vet could help?

I'm real sorry that she is unwell, I can't give any further advice.

they have tried everything,Dizzy point blank is refusing syringe,and wont even eat off a spoon and the best she has managed a tiny bits of parsley if I'm correct,i think the vet is out of options too,unfortunantly Dizzy says she is ready to go so there isnt much that can be done xxxxxxxx
 
Thinking of you and Dizzy. My heart is breaking for you and all your piggies after seeing the photos. She looks tired but she knows she's so much loved. x
 
Thank you for your kind support. Dizzy had a bad night with breathing difficulties, a return of the fever and some internal pain later. As she couldn't swallow anything anymore, my metacam didn't work.

She was with me in body contact all the time. This morning, she had pts, as I wanted her to go in her own time, but not in the discomfort she was in.

RIP my little princess! You look very peaceful now...
