few questions..

Didnt know where best to post this so figured as their's several questions here was best..
1.) how much pelletts do you feed 2 guineas?
(i know rabbits have 1 eggcupfull of pelletts a day)

2.)ive been told about compaction males can suffer if not neutered..
but also know of hundreds of people who dont have neutered males?

3.) constant supply of hay for guineas?

4.)how often can they have greens?

5.)how high should theire playpen walls be?

Piggies should have access to pellets at all times.

Boars/Male piggies do not have to be neutered, but it almost always eliminates the problem.

Piggies do need a constant supply of Timothy hay, hay used for their bedding is also great.

Piggies should eat greens every day. I feed mine romaine lettuce, green or red pepper and cucbumber twice a day. The same, along with parsley and tomato on and off throughout the week.

I'd say at least 30-40 inches for playpen walls, or if you can get one with a top.. it doesn't matter how high the sides are.

my plan is to have the zoozone on legs and then a run underneath and coming out making about 6ftx7ft then a ramp from the Zoozone into the run <3

and free ranging while I'm in <3


id put all the thought into who id go to to get the pigs and what housing id use and where would be safest for theire cage, i forgot about the simple things inbreeding

my piggies are in a C&C cage and there only 14 inches high but i've not had any escape so i would say 14-18 inches high.

if you have a look in the food section there is a sticky on what food they can and can't eat.

unlimited hay always, fresh water available at all time and i think its 30-50g of nuggets per piggy once fully grown, under a year unlimited nuggets to.

have you considered going to a rescue to get your 2 new piggies?

are you getting boys or girls do you know?

I had never heard of neutering stopping impaction? Surely taking away their balls has no effect on their guts, in fact I am sure I know neutered boars who have bee impacted?

It is not widely recommended to get a boy done unless you need to as, as with any op, the GA and the op itself carries a risk.

taa that makes life easier i have constant meadow hay in fr the rabbits

glad to hear nuetering has no effect on impaction

its all the same veg as the rabbits they x)

Hi,

I think it's all been covered really, but; I make sure they have pellets at all times, they have a bowl full which I change every few days.

Hay - again they have plenty of hay in their hutch all the time.

Veg, I feed daily, have a look at the sticky as some things shouldn't be fed too regularly, and other stuff is fine as a staple.

I won't answer the boy question, as got girls, so not really qualified!

Re. their run and hutch - I too was going to get a hutch that had a run attached, but after researching a bit I decided that a seperate run and hutch would be better for a few reasons;
1) You can move the run around, as they do munch on the grass, so after a few days it would be very depleted!
2) I can move the hutch into the shed in the winter.
3) I can keep them out of the run when the weather is very bad.
4) Although many hutches have ramps, and I know plenty of people on here have guineas that negotiate them fine, I know guineas can sometimes not want to use them, or fall, so I decided to go for a larger single storey hutch.

A run should definitely have a top, as cats could jump in and hurt your piggies.
