My boar Percy (5 in Feb) isn’t pooping as much as I as normal. There are still poops in the enclosure but as I’m so used to clearing lots up in the morning I’ve noticed there are definitely less. I’ve checked to impaction and there’s nothing. His tummy is soft and he is eating as normal. He did three smelly ish poops last night during lap time but they looked normal.
I am lost as to what it could be and if I should be worried! Any thoughts? Thank you!

Have you switched to daily weight checks?

Poop output is 1-2 days behind food intake so often by the time you notice less poops they haven’t in fact been eating hay properly for a couple of days. Hay intake can’t be gauged by eye so the only way to know they are eating enough hay is with the weight checks (weekly as routine but daily when you have health concerns).

If he starts to lose weight you need to step in with syringe feeding and see a vet

I weighed him yesterday and I’ll do it again today.
