I have returned from our regular weekend with mother-in-law in Wales with a little "souvenir" from nutmeg - two lovely new piggies!

The silver agouti one is called Ffion (=foxglove; pronounce FEE-on) and the one with the fluffy hairdo is called Briallen (=primrose; pronounced Bree-AH-khlen). Right now, they are busy getting their bearings, but Ffion is fully as nosy and cuddly as Helen promised me!

It was great finally meeting nutmeg in person at our second attempt this morning!

Good to meet you to. These girls will have a lovely home with you, hope they settle well for you. xx

Ffion has been taking cucumber off my hands this morning and I left her tearing into dinner... x)

I am sure that Briallen won't be that far behind!

When's introductions?! Glad everything went to plan... and another 2 piggies have there forever home :) x).

Love the names Wiebke and I'm glad your hubby finally agreed... :)).

They look like they're going to be right characters! They are lovely, I do like Briallen's quif! I feel a pig napping coming on next time I visit my parents in Cov!

Sadly, introductions have to wait until I am sure that the tribe is over the URI bug and mites that have made an unwelcome visit in the wake of Fflur's death.

It will give me some time to bond with my new girls.

Oh I forgot about that.... I can't wait for intro's :))! xx

Thankfully, no big wheezes on my return! I am hopeful that I am getting on top of the bug.

You getting your girls is the most exciting thing to happen for me all weekend. :)) They might get trumped if Zephyr pops tonight though. :))
Am so pleased that they've travelled well and are settling in nicely. I'm sure they'll fit snuggly into the tribe when the time comes.

Younger than previously thought.

Briallen's age has roughly been put at Telyn's age (about 8 months) by the rescue, but Ffion still has baby claws on her front paws, although she is a kilo already (and noticeably heavier than Briallen). Supposedly she is the daughter of Briallen (?), but that kind of weight would put her at around 6 months minimum. ?/

I guess I have to wait and see how they develop.

I have been so hoping that poor Zephyr had her babies by now!

I am quite certain theat they will fit into the tribe very nicely. It's good for "baby" Telyn to have company in her own age group.

normally baby claws are really sharp like needles till they thicken.

They are gorgeous and No Fair you did not tell us you were getting new piggies!

Hope the rest of the tribe is well!

Ffion and Briallen are beautiful Wiebke, I'm so happy for you that they have arrived to brighten your days. I am quite sure the lovely Fflur will be watching over them and making sure they settle in well.

I knew... :)), your forum stalking just isn't up too scratch hehe! There was a thread in the rehoming.... rolleyes!

they are beautiful x) hope all goes well for fitting in xx

oliver had his first cut of front nails the other weekend had him 8 months

bambi is about 10 months old & only just done his front nails thank god as they where razor sharp :)p

Don't know why I thought they were the same age as Fflur...

How can you tell baby claws?

I didn't tell because of Fflur (except the rescues active on here) - but this was the last time I was coming into easy reach of any rescues in the Northwest until the end of May, so I needed to ask around earlier than I would have liked otherwise. After some thinking, I felt that I wanted to offer a home to another piggy again, seeing how many are flooding into rescue.

Becky pointed me towards that special girl of Hels' who I have only "on loan" from Helen with strict orders to return her straight back to sender there to stay forever in case anything goes wrong with the tribe. I am still amazed that Helen let her go in the first place! We chose Ffion's name together.

Briallen (Brolly) got somehow kind of tagged on only a couple of days ago... (thanks hubby!) She reminds me quite a bit of my special piggy Minx who was also a longhair cross. I can't wait until they feel at home enough to have a little cuddle and a first phot session.

PS: Baby claws are the ones that are still too sort to be cut. Telyn's I needed to cut for the first time when she was six months old, but normally a piggy is 10-12 months old before you need to cut its claws for the first time.
Nia's were so razor sharp that you got a bloody scratch whenever she was just touching your skin!

Your two new piggies are cutie pies! They don't know how lucky they are, to have found a home with you.

I'm so very happy to know these two gorgeous girlies are safely at home with you now, Wiebke. You are a fabulous piggie-mum, and I'm sure introductions and bondings will go well, when the time comes. Their pictures are delightful, and I know in due course we will be treated to many more - I for one look forward to that.

Beautiful! I love both of them and can't wait to hear and see more of them as they get introduced to your tribe.

Pleased for you and them. :)

I am so glad that little Betsy/Erin has gone to one of my very best friends! :)) Ffion and Briallen are sending greetings back!

They are still sprawled on the soft cuddle bed I made for them.

brilliant news and i cant wait to see photos of them round the table with the others :)
dont talk to me about baby claws, last week Del scratched me across my face, oh it really hurt and today the little pest has scratched me across the wrist so it looks like ive tried to slit my wrists!I'm going to have to wear long sleeves this week rolleyes

What beauties. Cant wait to hear how they settle into the tribe.
