Fflur - vibes for spaying operation

Sadly, the Fflur's tummy upsets have brought to light a large (nearly golf ball sized) and still growing ovarian cyst, as well as a possible smaller one on the other side. With that in mind, I have decided (with Teresa's backing) that a spaying operation is the best solution under the circumstances.

Please send her your thoughts - she is at the vets waiting for her operation.

Even though Fflur has been with me for only a few weeks, she has become such a huge part of the tribe and my life that it seems more like months.

She's a darling girl, and I'm sending all the vibes I can, both for Fflur's operation, and for you too Wiebke, as I know you'll fret until she's safely back home with you.

God speed for the operation little Fflur. It's so hard when they have to go through operations, I'm really sorry for Fflur and you. My pigs and I will be making a special wish for Fflur to have a successful operation and an excellent recovery after. We know she can do it!

I didn't have that sinking feeling I had when I handed Mischief over for her operation (after which she soon died), so I'm cautiously optimistic.

But as I do not expect any news until mid-afternoon at the earliest, it will be a long day - after a long night...

Fflur came with portions of hay, pellets and some veg, and I asked the nurses to please not starve her before an afternoon op.

I think that Fflur is better off in the spare cage (next to the big one) at first. I don't want her in the big cage with the ramps and the high edges of the trays as long as the big operation scar hasn't knitted and she could easily rip it open. Once she is a bit better, Llewelyn can spend the night with her.

We had a dry run last weekend when she had her tummy upset.

Fflur hasn't made it

I have just spoken to the vet, and Fflur has sadly not woken up again, despite their efforts.

The vet did not only find that one nearly golf ball sized cyst we knew about, but another big one - too much for Fflur's small body cope with.

I am devastated.

Thank heavens she had a nice and comfortable time with you and your piggy family and tip top care for the last part of her life.

Really sorry Wiebke RIP FFlur you were much loved and will be sadly missed and never forgotten!
 
I'm so sorry to hear that and so very sorry for you and your lovely pack's loss. Rest in peace little 'flower'.
 
Sorry Wiebke, I was really hoping she would make it!

Adleast she finially found her forever home with you before she passed, very little consolation.

She was such a wee character I loved her photo shoot's.

My heart goes out to you, big hugs... So sorry :(.

RIP Fflur, popcorn free to the rainbow bridge, you will be sadly missed, but never forgot x
 
I am so sorry Wiebke 8... My heart really does go out to do. I honestly did think that Fflur would make it 8...
You made the last weeks of her life the best and she will always be grateful for that. Sending you lots of hugs. Sleep peacefully sweet Fflur xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
