I have 2 male’s approx 15 months old. I got them at the same time when they were baby’s and were in the same cage at pets at home. I’d never had guinea pigs before or even met one but I did all my research and went ahead and got them. Jed (a teddy) has always been naughty and cheeky but he’s always been the easier one to handle, Zeb was always placid and calm and didn’t seem to mind Jed humping him etc. In the past couple of weeks though I’ve noticed hearing a lot of squeaking coming from them, I looked over and Zeb keeps jumping on Jed on his head/shoulders, not humping. It doesn’t happen all the time. There’s no blood or hair loss and if I say stop they do. They’re in a 5x2 C&C cage so they have enough room and toys in there. I don’t Know if I need to separate them? It’s goes on for a few minutes and then they start running like mad around the cage.

How are they after the mad sessions? If they are normal and spend time together then all is fine and they probably just have a lot of energy. Keep an eye on it but as long as there's no aggression and biting I don't think you have a problem

Thanks for your response, this “rough” play seems to go on for a couple of minutes. I think maybe Jed is winding Zeb up. Whenever I get new toys for their cage, Jed tends to hog it and Zeb seems to let him get on with it, maybe he’s just irritated by Jed at the moment 😂
