Fighting over carrot?

My piggies seem to be fighting over carrot. I put a couple of pieces in and I have tries putting them next to each other and putting the carrot far away but it doesnt help.

One will start eating and the other will try to take it out of the others mouth!
:{ even when there is other carrot around the hutch/space. Are they playing,fighting or just sowing a bit of dominance. They are sows

It is either dominance behaviour or ingrained behaviour in some piggies that have had too little food in the past and had to fight over every little scrap.

I would cut up any food into small chunks and offer it in one big heap (like any veg). In my experience that works best. Otherwise, have three or four portions not far from each other so there is always somewhere else to go!
