Mis-sexing is unfortunately not at all uncommon. Illustrated Sexing Guide What to check and look out for in new guinea pigs (vet checks, sexing, parasites&illness) If you have two sows and not a boar and a sow, then please read up on the guides below; you will hopefully find them very helpful. The growling is called rumbling or rumblestrutting (in combination with the attendant body language).
