Figuring Out Age

Hello,

As some may know I took on Dolly and Peaches last week.
I was under the impression that Dolly was around a year old, and Peaches about two.

I was wondering if there are any signs to look out for that could help me slightly determine their ages? I feel like Dolly is much older than a year.

Her bottom is slightly boney and she gets tired a lot quicker than the others. She's healthy and happy but just sleeps more than the others.

Just wondering if there are any visible things I could look for?
 
I read you can tell by the feet if you know what to look for. Me? I have a youngster, 2x two year olds and an old lady of six, and I can't tell by their feet at all! :)

Haha! I've never heard of looking at their feet?! I doubt there is a way of knowing. I was just curious :)

I could ask when I next go with her. But not sure if they'll know either! Just really curious :)

My little Dolly seems old. Maybe she's just had a rough start in life and needs some tlc to bring out her youthful glow? ;)
 
I've just read something regarding nails but her nails don't look any different from any of the other pigs really! :doh:
 
I think it's mostly to do with the nails - younger pigs up to about a year have very neat, pointed 'baby' claws and older piggies tend to have thicker, yellowish claws. Of course, there are always exceptions that totally throw that rule out the window!

But the question is, once they have their thick adult nails, how can one tell the age from there? I read it was possible (or at least I think I did) but it leaves me scratching my head!
 
Ah.... appears I indeed misremembered (see how easily a rumour can start!) lol!
You can tell a youngster from an adult, but that's about it.... as far as I am now aware! :) - Just as @katanamoon stated :) x
