Do you believe it is a necessary thing to do? The pigs get their water changed daily and twice a day in this heat. I am careful with calcium even more so after Freddie developed a stone (he was getting quite a bit of parsley when that happened though as I didn’t realise it was a problem). We live in north wales, uk.

I always give my piggies filtered water it does make a difference even in soft water areas. My OH gets a bad tum if he drinks soft water but is fine if it has been filtered. When I drink unfiltered water it tastes horrible now and I can taste the chalk in it :vom:

I live in a very hard water area so I filter my own water and for all pets.

I filter all my water too, lots of additives in tap water regardless of where you live.

I filter all my water and have done for 40 years on the advise of a renal surgeon after I had a kidney stone. I lost a young piggy to stones last year and double filter their water as we live in a very hard water area and I was seeing some gritty sludge on the fleece. I feed very little veg, lots of grass and a very few grainless nuggets now on the advise of my vet.

I filter my guinea pigs and rabbits water. The hamsters get bottled water. We live in a very hard water area.
