I emailed p@h on monday they said i would have a reply within 48 hours, i finally got a reply today about their hay that gave my guinea's hay mites ...

Further to your email, I am sorry to hear about the problems you have experienced with your recent purchase of hay from one of our stores.

Customer service is one of our top priorities and we are always keen to hear of situations where the customer feels we have let them down. I assure you that we take matters of this nature very seriously.

If you return to your local store with the product, our store manager will be happy to exchange it for you. He/she will also complete a product complaint form with you so that the faulty item can be returned to our suppliers for investigation. I will also pass on your comments to our buyers for reference.

I thank you for bringing the problem you have experienced to our attention; we always welcome feedback from our customers and value your opinion.

I apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused and hope this unfortunate incident will not deter you from shopping with us in the future.

If I can be of further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Kind Regards

Louise

Now do i take it back? will certainly not be buying anything like that from there again but i do like there water bottles and i need another for a new cage when i get one and a litter tray or do i reply back and tell her that i wont be returning it back due to the fact ive heard so many bad reports about themseleves?

I would return it and get the water bottles. I wouldn't get the hay again just incase. :)

return and ask for your money back not the hay. its within your rights. then just use the money for what you need.

yes I wouldn't get an exact exchange, maybe exchange the hay for water bottles.

I didn't know you could get a refund if shops didn't offer it, we have a shop near me that will only give exchanges or gift vouchers/credit vouchers, not refunds.

I have said it to a LOT of customers that come into us at work. The best place to get value for money is agricultural places. You can get a big bale of shavings (for horses) for like £6.00 and a big bale of hay for about £3.50!

Its amazing value and its miles better than any of that P@H crap :a19::a19::a19:

When you say 'agricultural places' do you mean somewhere like BATA? I've driven past that place loads and never even thought about it, even though my dad gets chicken feed and livestock supplies from there!

If you have the receipt then you're entitled to a cash refund. It's up to you what you do with the money.

P@H have their uses and it's not worth cutting your nose off to spite your face, fair enough don't buy hay from them anymore but they're very useful for other bits.

If a shop has sold you faulty goods then they must refund you the same way that you paid for the goods - so if you used a card then it would get refunded back onto there. If you are exchanging goods because you have changed your mind about them (or its clothes and they don't fit) then the shop doesn't actually have to give you anything at all but most will give you a refund/credit as good customer care.

by agricultural I mean like horse feed supply stores! or generally more rural based pet shops. It is definitely more money for value. I saw one lady buying two P@H bales and I said that she could get two HUGE bales for not even the cost of those two added together :{

I would return the hay and never buy it again, but there can be no harm in getting those extra water bottles

P@H only gets my money when they have offers on pellets and dog food. I like to save my pennies so buy in bulk when they have the offers on three for the price of two or buy 1 get 1 free. Hay is brought from the farm shop is lovely.
