I actually thought this little piggie would never take to me as he seemed overly skittish, would never eat out of my hand and shake when handling.
All my other pigs appear to trust me and show affection in their own way.
Last night, I had a break through, I had taken him out for handling and cuddles. He was sat really close to my chin, he then turned round and began to kiss and lick my lips and purr.
It felt amazing to finally have a breakthrough with him. I hadn'e eaten for over 7 hours so don't think it was food he could taste.
He then wen on to lick my hand and he stopped the shaking.
Soooooooooo Happy.

On a side note Drogon is long haired and constantly has hair stuck in his widge which inverts it. I am tempted to cut his hair around his groin area? Does anyone else do this or do propel prefer to just remove the hair daily. I'm concerned about it getting wrapped around as oppossed to it just being stuck.

Lovely to hear you’ve made the breakthrough with Drogon!
Some piggies never enjoy cuddle time!
My boars don’t have th t problem with their hair but other Forum people do trim the hair from there for th sir piggies comfort!
Get someone else to firmly but gently hold the piggies against their chest so you have clear access then when they aren’t wriggling c are fully trim!
Might not let you do it all in one go! Should get easier the more you do it! Good luck!

I've always kept the hair trimmed on my long haired piggys rear ends, not only does it stop it wrapping round boy bits it also stops it dragging in wee and tangling up with hay. As @Janice C says above, get someone else to hold him still. I use round ended scissors from the pet shop which are especially designed for cutting animal hair more safely.
I'm realy pleased Drogon is bonding with you now, it's such a great feeling when they start to accept you and are more comfortable in your presence.

That's such a sweet touching story! :luv:

I'm still waiting on my breakthrough moment with Alice... for 6 months now. Hope this comes around soon!

I have managed to trim their nails on my own using guilotine style scissors. Hopefully i should be able to do this without assistance.
It wasn't that eh didn't enjoy cuddle time i think it is just his personality to be scared my other 3 boars have been great pretty much the first hold but Drogon has taken some work. but it does make it feel extra speacial when they finally give in and trust you :D
